About The Short Film

“I Want That Magazine” is a short 3-minute film that is about two friends that are sitting at a table during lunch while one is reading a magazine. As she reads the magazine, her friend wants to find out what she is laughing at and tries to take a look at the magazine, but she notices what he’s doing and quickly pulls the magazine towards her to prevent him from seeing. After many failed attempts, he finally manages to take the magazine from her and runs away, causing her to chase after him.

The chase takes the two around the entire college campus and eventually she catches up to her friend in the woods and causes him to trip over, however, when he trips, he loses the magazine in the process. As the two argue, they fail to notice that their other friend was also in the woods and has picked up the magazine and walked off, but the girl stops arguing with her friend and asks where the magazine is. Blaming each other for the loss of the magazine, the two head back to the canteen, pushing and shoving as they walk.

Back at the canteen, their friend is sat at a table reading the magazine as her friends turn up covered in leaves as dirt. As their friend asks them what happened to them, they tell her that it is a long story. She then goes on to tell the two about the magazine she found in the woods and the two instantly recognise it as the magazine from earlier. As they both check for their phones, they only get a handful of leaves as they smack their heads on the table as they realise they lost their phones in the woods.

Actors Showreel – 2016 – Chloe Cain Showreel

This is the final version of the showreel I created for Chloe Cain, a Performing Art’s student at Preston’s College. Since there was a minimum amount of footage to work with when editing, this showreel is quite short in terms of length and the content of her acting, however, even with this small amount of content, Chloe’s acting can be seen from the scenes in this showreel.

“That One Day” – Short Film – 2016

My short film, “That One Day” tells a story about a young man that falls into a depressive state after learning that his best friend was involved in a car crash only hours after they went their separate ways. One year passes and he realises that he needs to get help, so he visits a counsellor and gets told that he will get the help he needs.

This short film is to show how depression can affect to anyone and can be brought on by different tragic events, such as the loss of someone. This also shows how easy it is for someone to overlook the signs of someone suffering from depression even despite that person seeing them on a regular basic, such as your boss. People suffering from depression will often not accept help with their depression, so this film also shows how long someone can go without accepting help, like in the film, the character goes over a year without accepting help for his suffering from depression.
