Planning the EVAS Event

I would first start off by creating a floor plan of the room that the event will be taking place so I know what I will be working with and where I am able to place the cameras in order to get shots of everything I need for the live stream.

If I was to organise how the EVAS event would be filmed, I would film it by placing 4 cameras on the balcony facing the stage. With the 4 cameras, I would place 2 DSLR cameras facing the 2 podiums on either side of the stage where the presenters will be standing so I can get close-up shots of both presenters when they’re talking and presenting the awards.

As for the 2 other cameras, I would have the 2 HDV cameras on either side of the balcony to capture long-shots of the winners when they walk onto the stage, as well as being able to capture them from different angles, depending on which side of the room they are on.

If I had to choose a site to stream the live stream on, I would choose to stream on YouTube. The reason for choosing YouTube as the stream is YouTube is free to live stream to and YouTube allows you to schedule a time and date for the live stream, so this would be useful to have as an option since there might be technical difficulties for YouTube or the cameras, so instead of making the stream go live at the time of the broadcast, the stream can be scheduled and then that time until it starts can be used to check everything over beforehand to make sure everything is working correctly.

Once the live stream is finished, the setup will need to be derigged and the equipment needs to be put together so it can be accessed quickly and easily when it comes to taking the equipment back to Preston’s College.

How did this planning help you create a Corporate Production for Pinklink?

This planning helped me to create a corporate production for Pinklink because it gave me more of a visual image of how the setup would look for when it came to the actual event.

How did this meet the needs of Pinklink’s production request?

By planning the position of the cameras, it allowed for the event to be captured from multiple different angles and met their request as they asked for a live stream of their event and having a multi camera set up helped meet that requirement and made the live stream appear more professional.
