Requirements of the Event

Who is the client?

For the EVA Awards event, the client is Pink Link’s manager, Coral Horn.

What does the client want?

The client wants to have the EVA awards event live streamed to YouTube. They also want a short promotional video that they can use in the future to promote their event in the upcoming years.

How will you prepare for the client’s requests?

I have written a page on the preparation. The preparation I needed to do prior to the event was to find out the times in which the event will be broken into (when the event itself begins, when the award ceremony begins and when the event itself ends), as well as mentioning the equipment that will need to be taken to the venue. I also wrote about the crew roles that each of us will be fulfilling on the night of the event and which team we will be on, for example, I have volunteered to be one of the camera operators for the live streaming crew. A floor plan was also created before the event so that positioning the cameras could be decided prior to physically setting up the set up at Winter Gardens.

What style of production have you been tasked to create?

The production that was asked to be created was a multi camera 1-hour live stream production of the live EVA Awards. I also created a 3-minute promotional video from the footage that was streamed, that could potentially be used by the client to promote the EVA Awards event in the future.

Explain the legal issues that you could face whilst working on this project?

Since copyright is a huge issue when creating media, that same issue can apply when live streaming, so when music is played at the event, this will be picked up in the audio and that music will be streamed live on YouTube along with the video of the event. This could create legal issues as we don’t know which music tracks are going to be played throughout the night of the event, so we can’t get the rights to use them before hand and avoid any legal issues.

What skills will you use and need to learn for these requests?

I have learnt how to set up a multi camera set up, as well as learning about various other pieces of equipment, such as different cables and tripods, and also learn how to work while receiving instructions such as when to zoom in or move my camera a particular way to capture a particular shot.
